With Lance Stroll constantly being overpowered by teammate Fernando Alonso for the entire season, several rumors about him leaving F1 for tennis. Stroll’s reason for retaining his seat with Aston Martin has often been attributed to his father, Lawrence Stroll, who owns the team. Recently, Stroll opened up about his potential career switch in an interview with The Race.

Stroll joked that despite being pretty good in tennis, he would not want to go up against greats like Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz. He reiterated his love for racing and F1 and said that he wants to continue with it for now.

“I like to think I’m pretty good, but I don’t think I’m ready to go against Djokovic and Alcaraz yet. I want to keep racing. It’s what I love,” Stroll told The Race.

Stroll will start P11 for tomorrow’s Dutch Grand Prix, while Alonso will start from the fifth position. Stroll is in ninth position in the WDC standings, with no podium finishes this season.

Daniel Ricciardo broke his left meta carpel in FP2 this weekend after going into the barriers to avoid Oscar Piastri, who had already crashed. Ricciardo is all set to be treated by Dr. Xavier Mir, who healed Lance Stroll in a record 12 days at the start of the season.

Stroll had made a surprising return at the start of the season after several fractures in both of his hands and wrists. He was expected to miss the first few races, but surprisingly, he did not miss even one. Although the 24-year-old was not fully healed, he came back and even finished his comeback race in sixth position.

As Ricciardo has also suffered a big injury, he is surely expecting Dr Mir to work the same magic on him as he did on Stroll, as the Australian would not want to miss more races. He is currently aiming for the Red Bull seat, and his chances of getting that get slimmer as long as he is on the sidelines. He has been replaced by Red Bull reserve driver Liam Lawson, who will start P20 tomorrow.
