The Formula 1 world is currently embroiled in an exciting conversation concerning Lando Norris choosing to extend his 6-year-long relationship with McLaren. The Briton entered the pinnacle of motorsports in 2019 as an FIA Formula 2 runner-up alongwith his contemporaries George Russell and Alex Albon. While Russell and Albon have both changes their teams chasing better prospects, Norris has remained loyal to the papaya army till now. And thanks to his most recent contract extension, it is clear that he wishes to move ahead them in his career in future too.
But there had been some rumors going on in F1 town about Norris entertaining an offer from Red Bull for potentially becoming the teammate of Max Verstappen. Sergio Perez currently serving as the partner of Verstappen, has not yet seen a contract extension for himself and his existing deal with the Austrian outfit will run out at the end of 2024. Amidst all this, some reports suggested Lando Norris might replace Checo but then, all those rumors were abolished as McLaren announce that the 24-year-old has signed a multi-year contract extension with them.
Lando Norris’ contract with McLaren has given rise to plenty of questions in F1. Some fans believe Red Bull, being the current World Championship-winning team, would have provided him with a better car to enable him to win a Grand Prix. But according to Norris, teaming up with Max Verstappen would not have been a wise decision on his part.

Lando Norris’ boss Zak Brown is trying to move the Formula One Management to take steps against Red Bull
It is known to almost all F1 fans that Red Bull and AlphaTauri were owned by Dietrich Mateschitz, and even after the death of the Austrian, the two sister teams are operated under the same authoritative body. Despite such similarities, Red Bull topped the Championship Standings in 2023 while AlphaTauri came in the third-last spot. This concerning piece of information has led the main stakeholders in the Faenza-based to decide that their team needs a complete upheaval.

Thus, from 2024, AlphaTauri will be called Visa Cashapp Racing Bulls, and it is obvious that the name is a derivative of Red Bull. This also indicates that the two teams will work closely together, thus creating a big problem for all the other squads who do not have such support. Thus, Zak Brown penned an open letter expressing his opinions on the ‘unfairness’ of co-ownership in Formula 1. But as of yet, the Formula One Management have not taken any step regarding this.
