The Las Vegas Grand Prix was a memorable event for the lights of Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, and Sergio Perez. But the story was quite the opposite for McLaren driver Lando Norris. On the second restart, he lost control of his MCL60 approaching Turn 12 and crashed into the barriers at high speeds.
Lando Norris was taken to the hospital immediately after his crash because of precautionary reasons, as the impact he had on the wall was quite big. After sliding around the wall for a few seconds, he ultimately came to half by hitting the cushions placed at the end of the space adjacent to Turn 12.
At the end of the event, he was asked to dwell on his big incident, and while talking about it in detail, as reported by Sky Sports; Norris admitted that he feels that a lot of points were left on the table on his side of the garage because of his crash. Moreover, has thanked the medical team that attended to his needs after the crash.
An unfortunate end to our Las Vegas GP weekend. I just bottomed out on the restart, lost the rear, and hit the wall. Not the way we wanted the weekend to end, especially considering the pace looked promising on Oscar's side. Big thanks go to the medical staff for checking me over, and to the team for the work they'll now put in on the car.
Lando Norris would eye a podium finish at the 2023 Abu Dhabi GP
While Lando Norris did not have the best of outings during the 2023 Abu Dhabi GP, he has one race remaining this year where he can look to close out the 2023 campaign on a high note. The famous Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is slated to take place on the upcoming weekend.
McLaren has done a brilliant job since the start of the second leg of the ongoing campaign, and its drivers, Norris and Oscar Piastri, have also done a brilliant job on their end. The team has been performing really well, and considering the peculiar outing they had in Las Vegas, Norris and Co. would want a solid year-end in Abu Dhabi.

In the last few races, barring Vegas, Lando Norris has created a string of podium finishes. Keeping this in view, the onus is majorly going to be on him to come up with the goods around the free-flowing Yas Marina Formula 1 circuit. Norris would eye a podium at the least in the 58-lap event.
