Lando Norris has recently signed a new multi-year deal with the McLaren F1 team. His previous deal was slated to come to an end in 2025 but with his recent extension, he has put his faith in the abilities of the Papaya team to deliver the goods.
Lando Norris has been competing in F1 since 2019 and year after year, has gone on to hone his racing skills. He is a highly sought-after driver in the sport and considering this, Zak Brown and Co. have pulled off a bit of a masterstroke.
Norris is convinced that McLaren is moving in the right direction and while talking about his decision to extend with the team, he recently told Sky Sports F1,
I mean there are two things which influenced my decision. One, do I enjoy where I'm at, or will I enjoy where I go to, and is this team help me achieve my goal of winning the F1 world championship. Both are now yes really. I'm more convinced than ever that the second one is especially a yes!

Looking at the reaction of the prolific Brit, it is quite clear that he is immensely pleased with the work that McLaren has done in recent times. Moreover, has indicated that he is very confident about winning his maiden F1 world championship with the team.
Would Lando Norris be seen in the 2024 world championship picture?
While Lando Norris has oozed immense confidence around his new multi-year deal with McLaren, it will be fascinating to see whether he will be seen in the 2024 title picture or not. The woking-based-team made tremendous progress with its MCL60 last year but despite the efforts, it didn’t prove enough to challenge Max Verstappen.
However, with a new year comes new opportunities and who knows, what McLaren has been cooking in its various factories over the ongoing winter break. Considering the progress they made last year, they could come up with better machinery for the upcoming campaign.

Lando Norris was at his usual best during the 2023 F1 season and was also, able to help out his then-rookie teammate, Oscar Piastri, with his issues. Heading into 2024, the duo is one of the most talked about topics in the F1 world.
