Lando Norris has been competing at the pinnacle of motor racing since 2019. He has gone on to hone his racing skills with each passing season but while the sport is currently at a halt, he has taken the time to shed light on how his self-criticism helps him to do well in the sport.
Lando Norris performed brilliantly during the 2023 F1 season. He was one of those rare drivers who was able to take the fight to Max Verstappen on occasion, and for that, was applauded tremendously by the F1 grid and also by fans all over the world.
However, there were moments of frustration as well for the Brit. During the Qatar weekend, he was seen saying, “I’m so shit sometimes.” While the 2023 campaign has become a thing of the past, he has once again talked about why he is so critical of himself. He said, as reported by Autosport;
As much as I get annoyed with myself on Saturdays at times and people are like, ‘you shouldn’t beat yourself up’ and all of that stuff, a lot of my best performances come then on that next day.
Looking at the reaction to McLaren’s most prized possession, it is quite clear that self-criticism is what drives him the most to do as well as possible at the pinnacle of motor racing. without self-criticism, Norris believes that he just cannot operate at an extremely high level.
Lando Norris is yet to win a grand prix in F1
While Lando Norris has been racing in F1 for a long time, he has yet to open his account as far as winning a race is concerned. Over the years, he has come very close to doing it, but for one reason or the other, he has just not been able to cross the chequered flag ahead of the rest of the grid.
Moreover, there were a couple of occasions last year, where he could have managed to open his account. But he made some silly errors and that cost him the opportunity to secure his maiden win in the sport. But keeping in view his talent, a win is not too far away for the prolific Brit.

The 2024 season of the sport is just around the corner and there is a growing belief in the F1 community that this year is going to be the year when Lando Norris finally scores his first win in the sport. Considering this, the onus is really on McLaren to produce a potent car.
