Lando Norris sides with Fernando Alonso over Goerge Russell’s Melbourne crash, claims the latter ‘should have seen it coming’
A lot has been said about George Russell's Australian GP crash by various esteemed F1 personalities.

Lando Norris believes that George Russell should have been prepared for what went down at the Australian GP. On the last lap of the race, Fernando Alonso was going through turn six when all of a sudden, he decided to use his brake. This caught Russell off-guard and he got stuck in the dirty air coming off of Alonso’s AMR24. It ultimately led to led to Russell crashing at the event.
The FIA decided to penalize Fernando Alonso for the same as he received a 20-second penalty. According to McLaren’s Lando Norris, the Spaniard should not have been penalized.
He feels that during the incident, George Russell had enough time to react in a potent manner.

Looking at the reaction of Norris, it is quite clear that he has sided with the 42-year-old regarding George Russell‘s Australian GP crash. Moreover, he has made it known that considering the experience that his fellow Brit has, he should have been able to tackle the situation and not end up on the track in a titled position.
George Russell has no bad blood against Fernando Alonso
After George Russell’s crash at the Australian GP, there has been some tension between him and Fernando Alonso as the latter was penalized for his dangerous maneuver. While talking to the media, Russell jokingly mentioned that he bumped into Alonso at a coffee shop back home.

After being done joking, Russell in all seriousness cleared that he and the former two-time world champion might be competitors on track but, off track, there is no bad blood. Russell acknowledged that the severity of the penalty was significant given the potential repercussions, but aside from that, they are respectful of one another. Both drivers have moved on and are focusing on the ongoing Japanese GP weekend.
