Lando Norris put forth an impressive performance in the latter half of the 2023 season. The Briton managed to finish sixth in the championship with a very close call to finish almost P4. Hence, after a successful stint, the 24-year-old expressed his delight at his performance in the season.

Norris recalled his childhood days when he witnessed Lewis Hamilton‘s victory at Silverstone and stood on the podium, also highlighting how it would be unbelievable to stand there at the podium. Additionally, the Briton claimed that he had dreamt of scoring a podium at the British GP before the race as he secured a front-row start in Qualifying.

I remember watching Lewis win here not many years ago, just thinking like how crazy it would be if I got the chance to stand here on the podium, I dreamt of it actually the night before I almost got pole position, I was starting P2. We didn’t have the expectation that I would be standing here [on the podium] after the race.
Norris said, as reported by planetf1.com.

Subsequently, after scoring the podium, Lando Norris recalled the fact of how all the British fans were chanting and shouting his name after the race. The Briton highlighted that the feeling of scoring a podium at Silverstone was ‘unique’ and labeled it ‘hard to describe’ for anyone who hasn’t experienced the same. Finally, Norris termed this experience as his best experience ever in Formula 1.

They were all chanting my name and shouting my name which made it even more special. It’s such a unique feeling, it’s hard to describe to people what it’s like to stand here and everyone coming to support you. By far the best experience I’ve had in Formula 1 and one I really look forward to trying to repeat again in the future.

The podium finish from Lando Norris was also a highlight for Zak Brown

The podium finish from Lando Norris wasn’t only his special moment in the entire season. McLaren CEO Zak Brown praised Norris’ impressive podium finish in front of the home crowd at Silverstone. The 52-year-old recalled the moment and labeled it as a ‘spine-tingling’ moment for him during the race.

In addition to this, Brown claimed that Norris had been at the top of his game in 2023 where he displayed terrific pace and racecraft. However, even Brown resonated with Andrea Stella‘s comments previously about how the 24-year-old was sometimes too harsh on himself when judging his performances during a race.

Regardless, the Briton is desperate for his maiden victory in Formula 1 as he prepares for the challenges in the following season. Norris, on multiple occasions, has talked about achieving this great feat and how it would mean a lot to him after scoring his first victory in the sport. It remains to be seen if Lando Norris could clinch his first F1 win in 2024.
