Max Verstappen has, over the years, become the hottest property at the pinnacle of motor racing. He has been dominating the sport with Red Bull, but his teammate, Sergio Perez, has had a torrid time against him. Seeing the Mexican’s struggles, McLaren’s Lando Norris has taken an indirect dig at him.

After Max Verstappen, if there is one driver who is highly rated, it is none other than Lando Norris. He has quickly risen to the charts since making his debut in 2019 and is very high on the various F1 team’s shopping lists. Red Bull has also quite recently shown interest in him.

While the Brit is becoming a very sought-after driver with his every F1 outing, he has admitted that there are quite a few drivers on the current grid who can provide more competition to Max Verstappen at Red Bull. While talking about the same ahead of the upcoming Las Vegas, he told Soymotor;

Who else could be?" It would be good if it were Lewis; it would be incredible to see him. Or Fernando, Carlos, Charles, Russell... they are all great drivers who you know would make it more difficult for them...I would like to be one at some point.

Lando Norris is getting ever closer to scoring his first F1 victory

While Lando Norris is highly rated and scored several F1 podiums, the sad reality for him is that he is yet to score his first Grand Prix win in the sport. He has come quite close occasionally during the ongoing 2023 season, but it has still eluded him. Norris recently made a joke about his situation and said that he would retire after scoring his maiden triumph.

However, even if the young Brit cannot score a win during the ongoing campaign, it is not too far away from him, keeping in view his prolific racing skills behind the wheel of an F1 car. 2024 could be the year when he finally gets off of his barren run at the pinnacle of motor racing.

Lando Norris is only 23 years of age and has a big future ahead of him. At the end of 2025, he will be a free agent again, and that could be the year when Red Bull finally comes in and swoops Norris away from the Woking-based McLaren Formula 1 team.
