Lando Norris urged Zak Brown to bring back chrome at McLaren

The Woking-based team shifted back to its traditional papaya colors at the start of 2017 under Zak Brown‘s leadership. McLaren has established a new brand identity with orange in its new era. However, Norris admitted that he had always wanted to have the British team race in chrome. He continued, “I’d say every year I’ve been pestering [Zak] a little bit to want to go back a little bit in that direction.”
This is McLaren’s second special livery of the 2023 season. Previously, the team ran a tribute livery to celebrate its triple crown victory in Monaco and Spain. The Woking-based team is no stranger to one-off liveries with the iconic remake of the gulf-inspired livery in Monaco in 2021. Fans have continued to adore these special designs.
Thus, Lando Norris opened up about his love for McLaren’s iconic chrome liveries. The 25-year-old even revealed that it was the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes cars that actually got him passionate about Formula 1. As such, it would be a memorable experience for the British driver when he drives the chrome MCL60 on track this weekend.
