Lewis Hamilton, the former 7-time F1 World Champion, has talked about his prospects at the pinnacle of motor racing after the end of the 2023 season. Hamilton is contracted to the Brackley-based team until the end of the ongoing campaign and is yet to put pen to paper regarding a new deal. He has been most recently linked with a move to a top team like Ferrari.

As things stand, there is a lot of uncertainty regarding the F1 prospects of Lewis Hamilton beyond 2023, and the Brit, while talking about it to ESPN said, “I have no intention of retiring any time soon. I haven’t reached the end of my career. I’m not at the end of my career, I’m at my peak. I’m not planning a change. Mercedes is my home. I’m happy here. I haven’t signed a [new] contract yet, but we’re working on one.”

Lewis Hamilton has made it crystal clear that he is determined to continue his F1 career with the Toto Wolff-led Mercedes team. He does not see himself going anywhere else. And he ardently believes that the Brackley-based team is his one and only home as far as the pinnacle of motor racing is concerned.

The 38-year-old has been with the German team since 2013 and fully trusts the men on the team to help him get a record-breaking eighth World Championship. Since the dawn of the new regulations in the sport, Mercedes has not been able to challenge for the Championship, but despite this fact, Hamilton wants to continue with the team.

While Lewis Hamilton has made it clear that he wants to continue with the Mercedes F1 team, he has, however indicated that the thought of moving away from the team has crossed his mind a few times. While talking about the same, he added, “I would be lying if I said I never thought about ending my career somewhere else. I followed the Ferrari drivers on the track and wondered what it would be like to drive in red myself.

Looking at Lewis Hamilton’s comments, the Tifosi must-have for a second started licking their lips because there is no team in F1 that would not like to have the services of the former 7-time World Champion on board. He is an absolute legend of the sport, and there are not many drivers on the current grid who are at his level.

Seeing Lewis Hamilton at the Maranello-based Ferrari F1 team would have been a fascinating sight, but he has set his mind on continuing with the Mercedes team.
