The anticipated F1-inspired film, Apex, is in full throttle with production underway at Silverstone just before the British GP weekend. Produced by seven-time champion, Lewis Hamilton and starring the iconic Brad Pitt, this movie has created a buzz among fans who can’t wait to experience the action on the big screen. And fans were treated with a sneak peek of the action to come.

The movie team recently unveiled the modified F2 car that will take centre stage in Apex, with the name APXGP, giving enthusiasts a tantalising taste of what’s in store. Crafted by Lewis Hamilton’s team, Mercedes, the car will be driven by none other than Brad Pitt himself, and of course, will be supported by his stuntmen. Videos captured by an enthusiastic fans have emerged, revealing two of these black and gold APXGP cars zooming past the grandstands.

Excited spectators perched on the Hanger-Straight and Corpse Corner were treated to a thrilling spectacle as the two cars fiercely raced against each other. While the identity of the drivers remains a mystery, it was evident that their skill behind the wheel goes beyond ordinary racing knowledge. Manoeuvring these cars is no walk in the park, after all.

Lewis Hamilton is going to provide the F1 knowledge for the movie

The film crew has been granted their very own garage centred between the Mercedes and Ferrari garages. The modified F2 cars used in the film roar past the pits and grandstands, and their sound resonates with that of F2 cars. Despite being dubbed as the ’11th team,’ these cars will not be participating in this weekend’s race.

Lewis Hamilton is helping with the backend of the movie, providing insights into the world of F1. The Mercedes driver’s cameo in the movie is currently unknown. And as for his race, the Briton will be racing in front of his home crowd this weekend. Mercedes is all set to introduce its major upgrades for the race, hoping to bounce back after a challenging weekend in Austria.

The movie will be an Apple Original Movie and brings together the worlds of Formula 1 and Hollywood. Alongside Brad Pitt, the star-studded cast includes Damon Idris, the talented and award-winning Kerry Condon, and the brilliant Emmy-winner Tobias Menzies. Guiding this high-speed adventure is director Joseph Kosinski, known for his work on the highly anticipated Top Gun: Maverick. The movie is gearing up for its release, slated for late next year or early 2025.
