We already have seen what an impact a series related to Formula 1 can have on the sport. The Netflix series, Drive To Survive has changed the pinnacle of motorsport in various ways and has opened so many avenues for it. The next big thing in the line for Formula 1 is a movie directed by the ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ director Joseph Kosinski, which stars Brad Pitt in the lead role with appearance from the Mercedes driver, Lewis Hamilton.

The seven time world champion, Lewis Hamilton has been previously involved in Cars animated franchise and has also made a cameo appearance in Zoolander 2. The Brit is one of the biggest names in the Formula 1 world and his involvement would keep everyone’s expectations high about the project. The lead actor, Brad Pitt is a huge motorsports fan and had previously been part of a project with Joseph Kosinski for a Carroll Shelby-based film entitled Go Like Hell. This movie was later released as the infamous Ford Vs Ferrari which grossed over $225 million.

The Apple original films landed a successful deal to feature the Formula 1 movie on their platform. The motion picture is expected to show the the groundbreaking life and career of seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton, who has broken both records and barriers to become one of the greatest Formula 1 drivers in history.

The film director, Joseph Kosinski shared the timeline for the project by saying “We are prepping it now and my hope is that we will be shooting next year during the 2023 F1 season.  I am producing it along with Jerry Bruckheimer, Lewis Hamilton, and Plan B so I’ve got a dream team of collaborators on this one. “

The budget for the new production is reckoned to be in the range of $130-$140 million. Apple successfully defeated Studios Paramount, MGM, Sony and Universal in their quest of landing the Formula 1 film for their platform. However, the future project has a lot of unknowns as of now and the fans of the sport have to patiently wait for a long to witness the blockbuster.
