Lewis Hamilton, the Mercedes Formula 1 driver, has been competing at the pinnacle of motor racing for several years. So far Hamilton has managed to amass a brilliant seven world titles, and feels, that winning his eighth title with the Brackley-based team will to good for his legacy.
During the turbo-hybrid era, Lewis Hamilton was performing in a league of his own and was securing world championships for fun. But since the dawn of the new regulations, Mercedes has just not been able to provide the Brit with the weaponry that is required to win world titles.
In recent times Hamilton has been linked with a move to the lights of Red Bull, but he ardently believes that it would be best if he secures his record-breaking eighth world title with his current team. While shedding light on the same, he told racingnews365;
Every driver here looks at the Red Bull car and would love to drive that car. We've had two difficult years, and if we work towards being that car, it is going to be a way better feeling than stepping into the best car. That wouldn't do much for me, in the sense of stepping into the car that is the most dominant of all time. Working with my team to build and be able to beat them, would be better for my legacy.
Would 2024 prove to be Lewis Hamilton’s year?
While Lewis Hamilton has made it known that he is hell-bent on winning his eighth world title with Mercedes, 2024 could prove to be the year when the German outfit is finally able to present Hamilton with a car that is capable of challenging for the coveted Formula 1 world championship.
It has been two full seasons since the dawn of the new F1 regulations and under the guidance of technical director, James Allison, Mercedes could come up with a lethal weapon next year. Moreover, Hamilton himself recently indicated that the team has got a certain direction under Allison.

Lewis Hamilton has been making his trade with Mercedes since 2013 and is one of the main pillars of the team. 2021 was the last season when he fought for the championship and considering this, it would be right if Hamilton is seen fighting at the extreme north end of the grid next year.
