Lewis Hamilton picks famous British actor to star alongside Brad Pitt for his upcoming F1 movie
After an extensive auditioning process, Lewis Hamilton has finally selected the Hollywood star to join Brad Pitt.

Lewis Hamilton is an F1 icon. The British driver is often captured hanging out with some big stars of the film world. Thus, it is no surprise that Hamilton has been working behind the scenes as a producer for an F1 movie. The 38-year-old roped in renowned filmmakers Jerry Bruckheimer and Joe Kosinski for this venture. Reportedly, Lewis has selected the actor who will share the big screen with the film star Brad Pitt.
As per the Deadline, Lewis Hamilton and the team had a vigorous audition process for this selection. Damson Idris has been cited as the preferred choice for Brad Pitt’s co-star. Ibris gained fame after his role in the popular Netflix sci-fi film, ‘Outside the Wire.’ The 31-year-old is a British-Nigerian actor and was born in Peckham, South London.
Moreover, Damson is currently part of the American crime drama, Skyfall. Previously, Idris had also played impactful roles in Casualty and Black Mirror. It appears that the 31-year-old was able to stand out in the extensive auditioning process conducted by Lewis Hamilton and the filmmakers. Hamilton revealed that Brad Pitt was also part of this decision-making process.

Lewis Hamilton’s film depicts how F1 “should be” in terms of “diversity and representation”
The 7-time world champion has been vocal about diversity and equality in the past. Subsequently, Hamilton’s dream venture will follow along these lines to provide a more inclusive F1 paddock. Lewis Hamilton stated, “I want to make the movie, in terms of like having diversity and representation.” Additionally, the 38-year-old believed the movie would represent how F1 should be at the present.
The 38-year-old explained, “I want it to be as Formula 1 should be in the future – or should be now, but will be in the future.” This film will also promote women in Formula 1, be it in the pitlane or the cockpit. Lewis Hamilton continued, “I want to see female mechanics. We would love to see a female driver. We haven’t gotten to that point just yet. But why not?” Presently, Jamie Chadwick is one of the handfuls of female drivers who are part of a driver academy of any F1 team.
Thus, the addition of Damson Idris would certainly do wonders for the F1 film. This, in turn, shows Lewis Hamilton’s commitment to this project. The 7-time world champion is keen to provide an impactful story through the movie. A story that truly inspires the audience. For now, things seem to be going on the right track for the British driver-turned-producer.
