Lewis Hamilton set to reach another milestone at the French GP

Lewis Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton has a huge list of records to his name and he’s set to add another to that illustrious list. The seven time world champion has already featured in 299 races in F1 and the French GP would be the 300th. Lewis comes into the race with some really decent results after what was a horrendous start to the season. The signs have been promising but a lot of work needs to be done to get close to Ferrari and Red Bull.
We all know that Mercedes have faced a lot of problems when it comes to porpoising but it feels like that after FIA’s help, they find themselves in much better position. Austrian GP was yet another example of that as Lewis Hamilton and George Russell finished P3 and P4 respectively. Although Mercedes had a horrific start to the weekend with both the drivers crashing out of qualifying but the recovery was impressive.
Lewis Hamilton’s pace looked incredibly strong which helped him to build on that impressive performance at Silverstone. Now, last year’s runner up has two back to back podiums to his name but finds himself way behind the dynamic duo of Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc, who look like a step ahead of the rest of the pack.

But, the signs are encouraging for Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes for the French GP. After the race in Austria, Lewis said, “I really feel great. I’m so happy with today, especially after such a difficult start to the weekend.”
“We were looking so good in qualifying and then I crashed the damn thing.”
“Getting your head back around that, knowing the team worked so hard to build a new car for me… that affects everything, it affects our budget and so many people that have to build new parts.“
“We’ve just go to keep our heads down and keep chipping away. We are slowly eating into the guys ahead, but they are still pretty quick.”
French GP will be an occasion for celebration as he adds his name to the exclusive list of drivers and Lewis Hamilton would want to celebrate in style by being on the podium at least.
