The 2023 Formula 1 season has ended after a grueling campaign. All the drivers are now going to have their much-needed off time from the pinnacle of motor racing. Seven-time world champion, Lewis Hamilton has revealed that he has got quite a few things planned to do during the winter break.

Lewis Hamilton has had a roller coaster of a 2023 campaign behind the wheel of the unpredictable Mercedes W14. He had a lot of ups and downs but despite all the issues, he managed to end the campaign with a solid third place in the driver’s championship, making him the best non-Red Bull driver. He also helped Mercedes to secure P2 in the Constructors Championship over Fearrai scoring over 57% of the team’s points.

I don't finish work till the 10th of Dec, [...] then I'm going to go to LA, work on some music for a little bit. A friend of mine is having a baby, so I'll be there for that. Then family time in the mountains, fresh air, hiking, and cross-country skiing.

Looking at the comments of the Brit, it is quite safe to assume that he is going to be doing quite a few activities during the winter break. Hamilton has specifically mentioned that despite the 2023 season being over, he’ll be working until the end of 10th December.

Lewis Hamilton expects a title-worthy car in 2024

While Lewis Hamilton has given a detailed explanation of his winter break plans, he would deep down in his heart, be hoping for the Mercedes F1 team to produce a title-worthy car for the 2024 Formula 1 season. It has been two years since Hamilton has been seen fighting for the coveted world title.

In 2021(the turbo hybrid era), Hamilton had a nerve-wracking fight with Max Verstappen for the world championship. Their fight went down to the last race of the season, but since then, it has been nothing short of a struggle for the prolific Brit. Mercedes has not been able to cope with the new regulations.

Keeping in view everything that has been discussed above, the winter break is going to hold immense significance for the Mercedes team. Come February-March, everyone associated with the sport would get their first look at where the German team stands in comparison to the lights of Red Bull.
