Lewis Hamilton urges F1 to make the right decisions to ‘support close’ racing amidst Max Verstappen’s dominance

The 2021 season of the pinnacle of motor racing went down to the wire at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen gave their all to clinch the tile, but ever since then, F1 has turned out to be a one-man show, with Verstappen decimating his competition.
Under the new regulations, the gap between the various teams has widened massively, and Lewis Hamilton believes that it is high time that the decision-makers start coming up with ways to bring the grid closer. The Brit ardently feels the lack of close competition has negatively impacted the sport.
Ahead of the upcoming Las Vegas Grand Prix, the 38-year-old, while talking about the need for close racing in the sport, as reported by Silverarrows.net, Hamilton has made it clear that F1 needs to have a real look at certain things to keep the popularity of the sport at desired levels.
I think we have to continue to look at what is next. Having the three races out here in such a huge nation, I think is massively helpful. Within our sport, we have to continue to work on making sure we’re having close racing, because I think you’ve seen the social engagement drop a huge amount this year.
Lewis Hamilton has high expectations from Mercedes for 2024
While Lewis Hamilton feels that the time has come for making specific changes in F1, the current set of regulations is locked in until the end of 2025. While there is little room for change in it, Hamilton has huge expectations from his Mercedes team for the 2024 season.
It has been almost two years since the former 7-time world champion fought for the coveted F1 world championship. Hamilton is desperate to have another go at it and has several times in the recent past indicated that he is expecting potent machinery from Mercedes for the 2024 campaign.

Lewis Hamilton has his full faith in the abilities of the personnel on the Mercedes F1 team and firmly believes that if they get everything right during the winter break, 2024 could prove very rewarding. Several pundits see 2024 as the year when Mercedes finally returns to the championship picture.
