Lewis Hamilton, the former seven-time world champion, created a scene during the FIA Gala Ceremony by leaving his P3 trophy at the event. Hamilton was disappointed with quite a few things leading up to the recent event and to let his frustrations known, he left his trophy at the Gala Ceremony.
A lot was said about this in the media recently and it even came to light that people were not sure where the trophy went. However, after some searching, the FIA has been able to recover the trophy, and now it is reportedly on its way back to the Toto Wolff-led Mercedes F1 team.
While Lewis Hamilton was in a sour mood during the FIA Gala Ceremony, he did a pretty amazing job during the 2023 F1 season. The W14 proved an incredibly difficult car to tame but despite the issues, Hamilton was able to find his unique ways to make things work and secure third place in the standings.

Had the 38-year-old not been able to perform as well as he did, the Mercedes F1 team would have then surely lost out in their battle against Ferrari in the 2023 Constructors Championship. At the end of 22 races, the Brackley-based team was able to finish in second place only by a margin of three points.
Lewis Hamilton would need a potent car in 2024
While Lewis Hamilton’s third-place trophy is on its way to the Mercedes F1 team, he is not very pleased with it. Since losing out on the 2021 title under shady circumstances, his main goal for continuing at the pinnacle of motor racing has been to win his record-breaking eighth world title.
Finishing second, or third in the standings does not mean much to him and all he wants from Mercedes is to provide him with a championship-worthy car in the upcoming years. Hamilton wants to have at least one more crack at the title before he calls it quits in the sport.

Lewis Hamilton, despite being 38 years old, is still fast as ever and his 2023 exploits are solid proof of it. Toto Wolff has full faith in the abilities of Hamilton and considering this, it is going to be fascinating to see what kind of a car Mercedes will produce for the 2024 F1 season.
