Lewis Hamilton, the Mercedes F1 driver, has changed the landscape of the pinnacle of motor racing since signing a contract with Ferrari that kicks in from 2025 onwards. It is being deemed as one of the biggest off-track happenings in the history of the sport.

While a lot has been said about Lewis Hamilton‘s sensational yet courageous move, the former Ferrari engineer, Luigi Mazzola, is seeing it in an extremely bright light. He believes that John Alkann and Co. have done a great job by managing to bring the Brit on board.

While talking about what the 39-year-old superstar will bring to the Maranello-based team via an Instagram live session, he said, as reported by FormulaPassion.it:

We haven't won in Ferrari for 17 years and Hamilton will bring a much-needed winning mentality. Here Hamilton will bring that mentality where everyone will be tense on the violin string. The Hamilton move puts pressure on Ferrari as early as 2024 because it will be the season in which they catch up with Red Bull and then fight for the title with Hamilton and Leclerc as early as 2025.

Mazzola with his comments, has made it quite clear that the clock will start ticking for Ferrari from this year’s Bahrain GP onwards. He feels that Ferrari would need to make a massive step up this year and then, hopefully, come up with a championship-worthy car for Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc in 2025.

Lewis Hamilton will join Ferrari to win a record-breaking eighth world championship

While Mazzola has made it known that the arrival of Hamilton will bring immense pressure on Ferrari, one of the main reasons why the Brit has decided to join the Italian team is because he wants to win a record-breaking eighth world championship. He is currently tied with Michael Schumacher on seven titles.

The Toto Wolff-led Mercedes F1 team has struggled immensely under the current set of F1 regulations. Seeing the lack of progress at the Brackey-based team, Hamilton made the tough decision to part ways with them at the end of this year.

Keeping in view everything that has been discussed above, several eyes will be on the Ferrari outfit during the 2024 season. Fans are going to be interested in keeping track of the progress they make against the Max Verstappen-led Red Bull F1 team.
