Former Formula One driver and F1 Pundit Martin Brundle has been an icon of the sport for decades. Brundle is the host of the iconic grid walk in the F1 paddock ahead of the Grand Prix. The grid walk sees Brundle travel through the paddock, meeting celebrities present to watch the race and briefly interview them.
Multiple celebrities have fallen victim to backlash on social media for snubbing Martin Brundle, inspired by respect for the British commentator. Cara Delevingne most recently responded after being the subject of criticism for this after the British GP when she refused to talk to Brundle.
Ahead of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, professional golfer Tommy Fleetwood talked with Brundle during his grid walk. Fleetwood joked that Brundle was an “intimidating figure” to converse with.
In a tweet that has since been deleted, Fleetwood also revealed that he would be golfing with Lando Norris after the race.
Martin Brundle surprised by Lewis Hamilton’s winless streak
Lewis Hamilton has not won a single race since Brazil 2021, with two whole seasons completed without standing on top of the podium. The Briton has achieved several second-place finishes but has not found an opportunity to achieve victory.
Martin Brundle considered this a shocking statistic, considering the 7x World Champion’s fine form throughout the past season. Hamilton battled for P2 in the Championship until the Las Vegas GP and came close to winning in Austin as well, before his disqualification from the same.
Yeah, it still feels like a shock that you know Lewis hasn’t won a race now for two seasons. He’s still got one more chance this weekend but I do feel that he’s been on fine form, particularly in the second half of the season.Martin Brundle said, as reported by planetf1.com
Hamilton’s teammate George Russell has won a race in the past two years, claiming the winner’s trophy in Brazil 2022. Lewis Hamilton finished second behind his teammate at Interlagos, a year after winning there from 20th on the grid ahead of the title decider in Abu Dhabi.
