Charles Leclerc was definitely an unhappy man after what transpired at the British GP. It was pretty clear that he was disappointed and it seemed like the Monegasque driver was told to conduct himself in a certain way during the post race interview. Charles Leclerc was definitely not the favorite going into the British GP as Max Verstappen was simply flying around the Silverstone circuit.

But an unfortunate incident saw Max slip down the order. From that point on, it was Charles Leclerc’s race to lose. This race became even more important after the incident with Max as it gave Charles the chance to close the gap to the championship leader. But his cause was not helped by Ferrari, who evidently missed a trick or two.

The Italian Giants have definitely not looked the best off the track with all the reliability issues, slow pit stops and poor decision making. After the safety car at Silverstone, it was imperative for them to put on a fresh set of softs on Charles’ car. But, Ferrari didn’t do it, which eventually costed him the race and also the podium. Mattia Binotto was seen wagging a disapproving finger at Charles after the race, which made it clear that things were not right between the two.

It was confirmed by Ferrari press officer Alberto Antonini that something was definitely wrong. He said, “I have been told – and I trust the source – an ugly episode that occurred in the immediate aftermath of the Silverstone race.”

“Part of the Ferrari staff allegedly refused, at least initially, to attend the podium ceremony and photo op. If true, as I fear, this is not a good sign.’

“A little healthy rivalry inside the garage is fine, it is fine for each mechanic and each technician to cheer for ‘his’ driver, but the common interest must be to aim to win.”

But, it seems like both of them have made it right with the duo spotted having dinner at Hotel de Paris in Monte Carlo. This dinner was specifically arranged to clean the slate after an ugly episode and shift the focus to the Austrian GP.
