Max Verstappen back in town after long Switzerland trip as girlfriend Kelly Piquet posts picture from airport
After spending the first couple of weeks of 2024 in Switzerland, Max Verstappen returns to work as the upcoming F1 season looms ahead.

After a fantastic 2023 season of Formula 1, Max Verstappen embarked on a journey to Switzerland with his girlfriend Kelly Piquet and some of their close friends during the new year’s weekend. The Dutchman asserted his dominance in the current grid by scoring 19 wins in 22 of the races that were held in the recently-ended season. Following the grand finale at the Abu Dhabi GP, he flew off to Brazil with Kelly to attend her half-brother’s wedding. Then, Max was seen at the FIA Prize-giving Gala in December. But only a few days later, Kelly gave a story update saying she was going to Switzerland with her daughter and Max Verstappen as well.
Switzerland has been a favored spot for many of the Formula 1 drivers. Legendary F1 racer Michael Schumacher stays away from the public eye at his Swiss mansion and billionaire businessman and Aston Martin’s forefather Lawrence Stroll stays in Switzerland too, with his son Lance Stroll, who is a current F1 driver. Max and Kelly spent a long vacation amidst the Swiss Alps as they were pictured dancing and kissing on the streets during New Year’s Eve, and they also posted pictures of them skiing with some friends.
But almost half of January has already passed and Max’s team Red Bull are supposedly hard at work to develop the perfect Championship-worthy car for the new F1 season that will kick off in March. Thus, Max Verstappen has to get back to work just like his opponent Charles Leclerc has as the Monegasque was spotted in Maranello a few days back. Taking to her Instagram handle, Kelly Piquet posted a picture showing her with her daughter at the airport as they returned from their trip. It can very well be guessed that Max Verstappen was probably the one who took the picture. Kelly captioned the picture claiming to plan another vacation to Switzerland soon.

Max Verstappen deemed a natural Champion by former F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone
Ex-F1 owner Bernie Ecclestone is known for not mincing his words as he gives his most candid opinions during his interviews. The Briton recently took up the claims that many have made regarding Max Verstappen’s winning form. The allegations say that Max only wins because of Red Bull‘s superior car that is almost like a ‘rocketship’.
Bernie has refuted the claims and said that Max Verstappen is a natural Champ and he would win even if he were dealt with a Mercedes, Ferrari, or a McLaren.
Max is currently the benchmark in every field. You could also put him in a McLaren, and probably in a Ferrari or a Mercedes, and he would still win.Bernie Ecclestone said, via Marca.
In other news, Max Verstappen’s boss at Red Bull, Christian Horner, was also applauded for his work by Bernie Ecclestone. The 93-year-old business magnate claimed Horner has done a brilliant job leading the Austrian team since it is under him that talents like Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen have come up.
