The Formula 1 calendar is ever-expanding. The sport has grown immensely in recent times as it attracted millions of new fans, particularly from the US. Subsequently, F1 will be racing thrice in the Land of the Free in 2023 with the latest addition being the iconic Las Vegas strip. Now, Max Verstappen mentions the next track he would like to race on in the United States.
Formula 1 is currently trying to solidify its place in the American market. Rumors have floated around hinting that the sport is interested in adding a fourth US race to its calendar. Max Verstappen reckoned California’s Laguna Seca could be a potential option along the same lines as the Virginia International Raceway. Although the Dutchman reckoned that the latter would be preferable for GT cars instead of F1.
The reigning world champion stated his choice for the ideal fourth US GP. Wisconsin’s Road America is where Verstappen would like F1 to go next in its bid to have more American races. The 25-year-old said, “Road America is also very beautiful… Road America is of course fairly fast for F1”. Additionally, the Dutchman was convinced that the track could undergo necessary changes to host an F1 race in the future.

Max Verstappen wants Mugello back on the F1 calendar
Formula 1 might be looking into reaching new markets such as the United States and the Middle East. Yet Max is interested in bringing a classic European track back on the calendar. The 25-year-old is eager to race at the iconic Mugello circuit again. The Italian track hosted the 2020 Tuscan GP as a one-off race during the Covid-19 pandemic. The race was won by Lewis Hamilton.
However, the 25-year-old is aware that such an addition is unlikely. Stefano Domenicali-led F1 is eager to tap into new markets to reap commercial benefits, especially in the US. This has put the sport’s focus on new races in Europe on the back seat, something the two-time world champion is aware of and understands as well.
Thus, Max Verstappen is open to the idea of a fourth F1 race in the United States. The 25-year-old named a couple of options for the sport to consider but is eager for F1 to race on Road America. Though it remains to be seen if the sport does indeed look at the Wisconsin track for a new race in the Land of the Free or if F1 has its eyes set on another track.
