The recent news headlines in the Formula 1 world have almost all been about Lewis Hamilton and his shocking move to Ferrari after spending 12 years as a Mercedes man. At 39 years of age, Hamilton has been in the pinnacle of motorsports for almost two decades and he has only switched his team once before this. But now, it has been officially announced that the Briton activated an exit clause in his agreement with the Silver Arrows to leave them for a stint at Ferrari.

Lewis Hamilton’s move to the Maranello outfit has been a topic of much discussion lately, and the reigning F1 Champion Max Verstappen was also approached for his comments on the same. As a Red Bull racer for about 6 years, Max has come to share the same loyalty that Lewis Hamilton seemed to have with Mercedes. Even then, Lewis has decided to leave the Brackley outfit behind and take up a role as a driver for the legacy team of Ferrari.

If it's a dream he's had since he was a kid and he's already achieved so much in the sport anyway, then why not. But then again, maybe he spoke to Ferrari and they've shown him stuff we don't know about. It's very difficult for me to answer.

Lewis Hamilton has talked about how finishing his stint at Mercedes ‘on a high’ would be a dream end

Lewis Hamilton had debuted in Formula 1 in 2007 with McLaren, and he had stayed with them for the next 6 years. In 2013, the Briton left the team which whom he attained his debut World Championship title to move to Mercedes. At that time, the Silver Arrows were not performing so well, and the bystanders were critical of Lewis’ decision to take Mercedes up on their offer.

But for the next eight years, Lewis Hamilton and his alliance with Mercedes saw massive success in the turbo-hybrid era of F1. Lewis got six more World Championship titles to add to his name and Mercedes scripted history by winning eight back-to-back World Constructors’ titles. But putting an end to all that, Lewis is now slated to go to Ferrari for a multi-year stint at the Maranello outfit. And as it is his last season with Mercedes, Lewis Hamilton wants to end it ‘on a high’.

To finish on a high with the team would be a dream. You know, we've gone through a whole heap together, so, to finish on a high would be the greatest honor.

In other news, Lewis Hamilton was recently spotted driving Mercedes’ latest challenger ahead of the unveiling of the 2024 F1 season racecar. In the last two years, Hamilton has not won a single Grand Prix and it remains to be seen if he manages to break away from the slump and achieve some good results in his final season with Mercedes.
