Max Verstappen’s dominant run has finally come to an end at the pinnacle of motor racing. He was bashing his competitors left and right until the Singapore GP but with his P5 finish, his sensational run has come to a close, and has blamed a plethora of bad luck for his outing. Verstappen genuinely feels that had certain moments not taken place during the race, he could have ended up higher on the grid.
Max Verstappen has been the man to beat during the 2023 F1 season but since landing in Singapore, he never looked comfortable behind the wheel of the all-conquering RB19. The same was the case for Sergio Perez in the other Red Bull and overall, the team has had an outing to forget.
Verstappen is immensely disappointed with his Marina Bay outing and while talking about the same during the post-race interviews, he said, “I think we were very unlucky with the SCs, two times. Otherwise, I think we could have done a lot more because the pace of the medium was quite good, it could have been fun out there.”
“We went on the alternative strategy and we need to hope that it works in your favor. Today, I think it didn’t but yeah, that happens sometimes, overall the car was a little bit better in the race again, which I think is the most important. I think we really have to understand this weekend. Suzuka is a very different layout (so no problems there).”

Max Verstappen’s ten-race winning streak has come to an end
While Max Verstappen has made it clear that he could have had a better outing during the recently concluded Singapore GP, it still would not have been enough to topple the in-form Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris at the front end of the grid. The Red Bulls package was just not potent enough to challenge for the win at the event.
Moreover, with Singapore’s disappointment, the 25-year-old ten-race winning run has come to an end. Before Singapore, he won ten consecutive races, and in the process of doing so, also broke Sebastian Vettel‘s record. He had intentions of continuing his run but unfortunately for him, it has come to an end at the hands of a Ferrari driver.
This is nothing short of music to the ears of the Tifosi all over the world and it is surely going to leave a scar within the whole Red Bull camp. Max Verstappen and Co. were really looking forward to winning all the races this year but with their recent defeat, all they can do is keep their chins up and go full throttle in preparing for the Japanese GP.
