Red Bull’s team principal Christian Horner came under a lot of fire, due to the investigation that was launched against the Briton. At the start of February, the news broke out that a female employee had accused the 50-year-old of inappropriate behavior. But Horner was cleared of all allegations ahead of Bahrain GP.

While Red Bull had hoped for the controversy to finally die down, things took a turn for once, becoming a nightmare for Red Bull, when an anonymous mail was sent consisting of alleged leaked evidence to all the F1 personalities and journalists including Max Verstappen’s father Jos Verstappen. Jos Verstappen has publicly claimed that Horner’s presence at Red Bull could tear the team apart. Max Verstappen has finally broken his silence regarding the same.

The reigning world champion wished to focus on driving, and races. Max Verstappen simply didn’t want to take any sides. However, the 26-year-old affirmed that this was what his father felt regarding Horner. Things are heating up even more, increasing trouble for Red Bull. But what’s sure is that despite the controversial mess, when it comes to racing, Milton Keynes continues to lead the pack.

I guess (Jos Verstappen) clearly felt like that. But from my side, it doesn’t matter being on one side or the other side. As a son of my dad’s it would be weird to be on a different side [than him]. But I just want to focus on the performance side of things and have less talk of what we are doing outside of the track than actual performance. We have a great car and look forward to a great year.

Jos Verstappen was seen having a meeting with Mercedes Team Principal, Toto Wolff during the Bahrain GP. With the unrest at Red Bull, and his father’s criticism of the team principal, Max Verstappen is surrounded by speculations of a possible Mercedes move once again. This time while speaking to the media, he shut down all the rumors and Talked about his contract till 2028.

Of course, that has always been the intention of the signing, That's why we signed up for so long to be here. And of course, it's about the performance of the car. And of course, starting in 2026, that's a question mark with the new regulations anyway, but I knew that when I signed my contract.

Max Verstappen was aware of the team’s contributions to his professional success. Since the Dutchman enjoys being a member of this team and was happy there. As such Verstappen intends to stay at Milton Keynes. Furthermore, there’s no need to depart in the meantime as per the reigning world champion.

Certainly, Max Verstappen has made it clear that he wants to continue with Red Bull. However, things might change in the coming weeks if relations within the team are impacted further by Horner’s situation.
