Max Verstappen, the reigning Formula 1 world champion, has made it known that he is not a big fan of the Sprint race format. With the upcoming Brazilian Grand Prix weekend also being run in a Sprint format, he has, once again, shown his displeasure toward it.
Verstappen genuinely believes there is no point in staging the Sprint races; he feels that the F1 product is already good enough to catch the attention of the fans. Moreover, has admitted that, in his opinion, the format is something that has been brought about out of total craziness.
While shedding light on the same in detail, the Dutchman made it known that had the power has been in his hands to make certain decisions around F1, he would not have changed even a single thing as, so far, it has worked really well.

Why do we need to try and invent something? I think our product works, if you just make sure that the cars are competitive and the rules stay the same for a long time, why are we always inventing new things? It almost sounds out of craziness that we need to come up with something. Just leave it the same. In football, you don’t change the rules, or in other sports. It’s been like that for 100 years.
Verstappen said, as reported by Motorsports Week.
Max Verstappen would be eyeing another solid outing during the Brazilian GP Sprint weekend
While Max Verstappen has left no stone unturned in showing his displeasure toward the Sprint race format, he has done well in pretty much all the Sprint races this year. He dominated the Qatar GP sprint race weekend and would look to replicate the same during the upcoming Brazilian weekend.
He has been in tremendous form behind the wheel of the RB19 this year and has come out as the superior driver in most of the F1 events. Be it a full-fledged Grand Prix or the Sprint races, he has hardly put a foot wrong and has added several stars to his stock at the pinnacle of motor racing.

Going into the Brazilian weekend, Max Verstappen will again be the favorite to dominate most of the proceedings. However, it could prove to be a bit tricky as a certain Lewis Hamilton has also been in tremendous form since the last few F1 races and has been turning several heads.
