The 2023 British GP races weekend will be one where Max Verstappen will be out seeking redemption. The Red Bull driver hasn’t always had the best of luck when it comes to racing at Silverstone. Back in 2019, he was running on for a good result but it all failed as he he got into an incident with Sebastian Vettel. The 2021 iteration was the harshest one yet for the Dutchman.
Max Verstappen got taken out by Lewis Hamilton during that race. All being considered, there id always something that is out to get the Red Bull racer at this track. However, it seems like this year will be different. Verstappen has a car like never before as he goes into the British GP race weekend. Red Bull have been extremely dominant ever since the start of the season.
After topping FP1 and FP2, here is what verstappen had to say to Sky Sports. “It was a good day for us. It was quite slippery in the beginning but that was due to the high pressures we are running on the tyres which made it a bit difficult in the low speed corners but overall the car has been performing well,” he stated. FP2 was a very close session for all the top teams with Carlos Sainz being just .022 seconds ahead of Max.

Max Verstappen will have one more chance to redeem himself at Silverstone
After all the bad luck and drama that has taken over the last few iterations of the race, Max Verstappen finally has a car that he can push to the limits and beat everyone. Mercedes themselves haven’t been having a good day on the field. Meanwhile Williams have their drivers in P3 and P5 which has been very commendable. It seems to be a close battle between the teams here.
However, Max Verstappen remains unfazed from it all. Red Bull has won every single race this season and they seem to have come prepared to execute the same. The Dutchman’s points tally of 229 alone puts him on top of the constructors standings too with Mercedes having 178 points under their belt. Max’s average points finish per race this season is 25.4 which is more than a race win. It will be interesting to see what he can do at Silverstone on race day.
