Max Verstappen has been sparkling his magic at the pinnacle of motor racing for several years. He has come under massive prominence since winning his first world championship against Lewis Hamilton in 2021 but with the sport currently at a halt, he has talked about his love for GT3.

Max Verstappen is building his own GT3 team to get everything up and running by the start of 2025. He recently tested his car with his dad, Jos Verstappen, and has several times in the past made it known that he wants to build a strong team that would be able to fight for world titles. The Dutchman is extremely fond of GT3 cars and while talking about the same recently, he said as reported by Motorsport;

A GT3 car is not that advanced. But that's also nice, because it's all a bit more old-school, it's just a bit different to drive. Of course, you don't have twenty people tinkering with your car, there. There are not endless possibilities with what you can do to the car, like 'I want to change this', but sometimes that's not possible. It's a bit simpler and sometimes it's just nice to take a step back.

Looking at the reaction of the reigning F1 world champion, it is quite clear that he enjoys getting behind the wheel of GT3 cars now and then. Moreover, what excites him the most about the cars is how simple they are to drive, and feels it is the perfect way to wind up and relax.

Max Verstappen has several interests outside of F1

While Max Verstappen has talked about his love for GT3, this is not the only interest that he has outside the world of the pinnacle of motor racing. Verstappen has several times talked about his wish to compete in rallying and also at some point, trying his hands at the iconic 24hrs Le Mans event.

Verstappen’s current deal with the Red Bull F1 team runs until the end of the 2028 campaign and with his interviews, he has kept the door open on potentially moving away from F1 for some time and trying something new. However, 2028 is still quite far away and who knows, he might sign a contract extension.

Max Verstappen is currently seen as the hottest property at the pinnacle of motor racing. He has all the skills in his arsenal to do well in other motorsports as well and considering this, it will be fascinating to see how his career would shape up beyond the 2028 season of the sport.
