Max Verstappen stormed to victory at the Hungarian GP and looked flawless throughout the race with no challenge to his rampage. Verstappen was unbothered since he took the lead off Lewis Hamilton into the first corner. This victory marks his seventh win in a row and Red Bull’s 12th win in a row, which shatters McLaren’s longest standing 11 in a row record.

Throughout the race, Max Verstappen showcased utter dominance. He expertly managed tire wear, which allowed him to build a massive gap over his competitors. He commented, “Today the car was really, really quick, and we could look after the tire wear, and basically that’s why we could create such a big gap.” This strategic brilliance helped him maintain control from start to finish, securing yet another lights-to-flag victory.

The Dutch driver’s delight was evident as he exclaimed, “It’s just incredible, what we’ve been going through the last few years is just unbelievable, and hopefully we can keep this momentum going for a long time.” Currently leading the drivers’ standings with over 110 points ahead of his nearest challenger, teammate Sergio Perez

The title race is firmly in his grasp, and he could potentially clinch the championship as early as the Japanese GP, just five races away. However, Verstappen acknowledged that qualifying was a bit of a challenge for him. Nevertheless, he credited the struggle as a positive aspect, saying, “Maybe it was probably a good thing for today.”

Muscling his way to the lead into the first corner, Verstappen executed a perfectly timed move, leaving Lewis Hamilton trailing behind and dropping to fourth place. Relishing his impressive start, he shared, “Yeah finally we had a really good start, very happy with that, we’ve been working on that quite a bit to try and get a good bite.”

His confidence in his cornering skills shone through as he added, “I know of course when I had the inside, that corner was mine. It was just late on the brakes, you are a heavy car, so luckily it all worked out well.”

Red Bull’s dominance is evident, but rivals are looking to close in on their advantage in qualifying sessions. Verstappen revealed, “I think over one lap this weekend it was a bit of a struggle, but the car was good on any tire, and we could look after the tire wear.” This adaptability allowed Verstappen and Red Bull to create a significant gap between themselves and their competitors, further solidifying their position at the top.

While Red Bull appears to be practically unbeatable this season, the cost cap penalty appears to kick in later in the season as the team’s qualification difference eventually narrows. But, having won every race thus far, Red Bull simply has to maintain their momentum for the next four races to secure the constructors’ title.
