Max Verstappen, the reigning F1 world champion, made the people miserable with the Dutch National Anthem during the 2023 F1 season. He won a highly impressive nineteen races and had the fans remember every minute detail of it. While the fans have had enough of it, it seems so has Verstappen as he completely lost the plot after hearing it recently during sim racing.

Max Verstappen has been performing exceptionally well at the pinnacle of motor racing since the 2022 season. While he won several races during that year as well, he took things to a whole new level in 2023 and made the rival fans miserable, first with his skills and secondly, by making them hear the Dutch National Anthem during podium celebrations.

However, with the recent video that has surfaced of the 26-year-old, it seems that even he has had enough of hearing the anthem. He can be seen saying, “Nah, come on, stop this shit. Oh my god.” Looking at the reaction, it is quite clear that he does not want to hear the anthem until the 2024 F1 season kicks off.

Triumphing in nineteen grand prix during a twenty-two event season is not everybody’s cup of tea, and considering Verstappen’s frustrated reaction, it is understandable from his point of view as he had enough of it during last year’s campaign of the pinnacle of motor racing.

Would Max Verstappen be seen dominating F1 again in 2024?

While Max Verstappen is done with hearing the Dutch National anthem for the time being, he might have to hear it again on repeat during the 2024 F1 season. If he performs anywhere near the way he did last year, then one thing is for sure, the dutch anthem will be sung several times.

However, 2024 could prove to be the year when the rival teams/drivers finally manage to catch up to Verstappen and Red Bull in terms of car development. Moreover, top teams like Mercedes and the Maranello-based Ferrari f1 team have already started oozing immense optimism regarding this year’s season.

Max Verstappen has been the top dog in F1 since 2021 when he won his maiden world title against Lewis Hamilton, and considering how he has performed since, there are chances that despite rival teams’ 2024 progress, it might prove too difficult for them to stop the Verstappen hype train.
