Max Verstappen has at last taken possession of a fresh trophy for his Hungarian Grand Prix victory, following an unexpected mishap with Lando Norris that led to the damage of the original award. In one of the amusing scenes of the 2023 F1 season thus far, Norris toppled Verstappen’s trophy.

Remarkably, the well-crafted trophy by the skilled artisans at Herendi Porcelán bore a price tag of roughly £35,000. Swift action ensued as the Hungarian company was quick to craft a replacement, ensuring Max Verstappen is rightly commemorated. The newly minted trophy is expected to find its place of honor within Red Bull Racing’s massive collection at their headquarters in Milton Keynes.

Verstappen proudly showed his freshly received trophy through his social media channels. The Dutchman took this opportunity to share the moment with none other than Norris. The young Brit was present during the reveal and he finally presented Max Verstappen with the trophy he broke previously in Hungary. Although it was not intentional the incident has surely created a lot of talk about it.

Following the incident, Herendi Porcelanmanufaktura Zrt promptly announced their commitment to expedite the creation of a replacement trophy. A task they accomplished in an impressively short span of five weeks. Under the guidance of Herendi’s CEO Dr. Attila Simon, a ceremony unfolded where Verstappen and Lando Norris convened for the trophy handover.

Verstappen took to Instagram, sharing images of the handover accompanied by the words “it’s fixed.” Encapsulating the light-hearted camaraderie he shared with his McLaren counterpart during the event. Upon laying eyes on the newly restored trophy, Verstappen exclaimed, “It’s in one piece,” appreciating the meticulous craftsmanship that had gone into its repair.

In a playful gesture, as the trophy was handed to him with a handshake, Verstappen jokingly quipped, “Lando is not allowed to touch it!” alluding to the earlier mishap. The occasion also saw Norris posing with a jestful invoice for the replacement trophy, keeping the jovial spirit alive.
