Christian Horner was deemed acquittal by the Red Bull GmbH board just before the Bahrain GP. However, after the completion of FP sessions on Thursday, an anonymous source leaked documents regarding the Brit’s investigation which spurned an uproar in the paddock. Following this, Max Verstappen‘s contract details have been leaked stating he can leave the team with immediate effect.

Recently, Jos Verstappen, publicly stated that if the Englishman stays in the team, the team will fall apart. Subsequently, Verstappen’s father was spotted with Toto Wolff, after which the Austrian refused to rule out the possibility of the Dutchman joining the Silver Arrows. This raises the question of whether the reigning champion would leave the team as he is contracted to the Austrian manufacturer till the end of the 2028 season.

However, Helmut Marko has shared his views on the situation currently ongoing in Red Bull:

As far as I'm concerned: I won't stand in Max's way.

The exit clause in the Dutchman’s contract reportedly allows him to part ways with the team if the Austrian also leaves. This creates an interesting situation within the team where their CEO/team principal, is under accusations by other members of the paddock, while their star driver is on the brink of leaving the team.

What is Max Verstappen’s verdict on the whole situation?

The 26-year-old is the most in-demand driver on the current F1 grid. Moreover, he is on the radar of the teams if he decides to leave his Red Bull alliance. Subsequently, Verstappen has commented on the situation currently ongoing in Milton Keynes.

Verstappen has commented on the situation and how he and Horner behave during the races.

I speak to Christian[Horner] a lot, and also throughout the weekend here, he’s fully committed to the team, he’s also here for the performance. Of course probably a little bit distracted. But like I said before, we just focus on the performance side of things, and that’s how we all work together.

The Dutchman explained that Horner is an incredible team leader. Moreover, the triple champion stated that the Briton is fully committed to the team and will give his all despite the allegations against him.

On the other hand, the saga at Red Bull continues for a little longer. Numerous team principals have pointed out the lack of transparency and have demanded a thorough investigation by the FIA. However, it will be revealed in due course whether Horner stays as the team principal or not.
