Verstappen has several years ahead of him in F1 keeping in view his age. He has a contract at Red Bull until 2028 and after that, no one knows what would be in the Dutchman’s future. Whether he would continue sparkling his magic all over the globe or decide to call it quits for good.
Verstappen’s F1 future has always been a hot topic of discussion, but he has himself come forward and talked about it, he pointed out that he will retire from the sport teh day he no longer loves racing and winnng as he is doing right now. The Dutchman with his comments, has kept the door open on a potential early retirement.
I would just keep in mind that the actual sport comes first, instead of the show. At one point you have to outweigh the success against just general quality of life. I feel like I’m living out of a bag, out of a hotel, all the time. At the moment that’s fine. I love driving. I love winning. But the older you get, maybe one day that’s not anymore what I want. That, for me, is very important, and that eventually will also decide if I stay or not.Verstappen told TIME.
Max Verstappen is tipped by many as the one to break the F1 world championships record
While Max Verstappen has given a fascinating view into his F1 retirement plans, he is the one driver who is seen by several pundits as the pinnacle of motor racing’s one driver who could break the 7-world championship record of Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher.
The 26-year-old has got all the skills in his ever-evolving arsenal to go for the record and if Red Bull keeps holding its end of the bargain for the upcoming years, Verstappen could break it sooner than expected. He’s currently on three and needs four more to equal the record of the F1 legends.
