The 2023 Mexican Grand Prix is going to be remembered for a long time for a plethora of reasons. While Max Verstappen won the race by a margin of over 15 seconds over Lewis Hamilton, the latter has been amassing quite a few headlines for his daring move on Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc.
During the 71-lap race, Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were engaged in an intense battle for second place, and at one point, the former made a daring dive into the inside going into Turn1 to get the better of the Ferrari driver. The move was special as Hamilton had to go onto the grass with DRS open in order to get ahead of Leclerc.

From the mentioned video, it can be seen that seeing the move of the 38-year-old, even Max Verstappen was perplexed as to how he was able to make the move stick, because generally, when a driver goes onto the grass he loses control over his car and crashes into the barriers.
They had a very brief chat about it in the driver’s room after the race and it went like this:
Charles: You did that!
Max: It felt good on the grass?!
Lewis: Was sliding turning with the DRS open!
Charles: Really?!
Even Charles Leclerc was impressed with the racecraft of Lewis Hamilton.
Lewis Hamilton had a tremendous outing in front of the fans in Mexico City

The 38-year-old was on it from the get-go and surprised quite a few people in the F1 paddock with the pace he was able to produce behind the wheel of his w14. With his second-place finish, he has now massively closed down the gap to Sergio Perez in their fight for second place in the Constructors Championship.
There are only three races remaining on the 2023 F1 calendar, and considering this, Lewis Hamilton is going to give his all in the remaining races to achieve his targets. Next up on F1’s schedule is the former 7-time world champion’s second home race, the famous Brazilian Grand Prix.
