The Monza F1 weekend has become a thing of the past, but the flames around the verbal tussles that took at the event have still not completely gone off. At the Italian GP, Lewis Hamilton claimed that Max Verstappen had not had strong teammates like him in F1; while the latter gave a stern response back then, he has once again brought the topic to light.

The Singapore GP weekend officially got underway yesterday, and Max Verstappen did not take much time in taking a verbal shot at Lewis Hamilton. Despite the indirect jibes that both parties have taken at each other since Monza, they are still not done and could continue further.

The Dutchman, while bringing Hamilton’s comments into center stage once again, told FORMULE1.NL, “It’s not nice of Hamilton towards the teammates I had, but it is ironic that after that interview of his in Monza, many of my teammates were ahead of him in qualifying. I am not focused on others, but on my own performance.”

He added, “I respect the dominance of others and Lewis’ past titles. In my opinion, it doesn’t have to be about other people’s teammates. It’s about your own performance, how you perform in your race weekends, and how you work together with your team. The rest is secondary. Maybe there is a little jealousy. Nice for Netflix? That doesn’t really matter to me.”

While Max Verstappen has made it known that he does not bother himself too much with the outside noise, he has only one target on his mind for the remainder of the 2023 F1 season. The Driver’s Championship has become a formality for him this year, and considering this, his sole focus is on continuing his winning run.

The 25-year-old is currently on a winning streak of ten consecutive races and is set on securing his eleventh triumph at the famous Marina Bay Street Circuit. The track is extremely challenging physically, and Verstappen has his work cut out for him during the three-day event.

Moreover, in the build-up to the Singapore GP, it has been heavily discussed that the two Red Bulls could struggle under the humid conditions at the track. If this certainly proves to be the case, then Max Verstappen would have to work his socks off to continue his dominant run at the pinnacle of motor racing.
