Last season, reigning Formula One World Champion Max Verstappen and 7-time Formula One World Champion and Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton frequently dueled on the racetrack, which resulted in a number of serious collisions. The relationship between the Dutchman and Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc is much smoother this season. Verstappen clarifies the reason.
Verstappen’s severe collision at Silverstone one year ago occurred after Hamilton struck him at Copse. The 37-year-old driver had to make a parallel to a comparable match with Charles Leclerc, despite the fact that the Red Bull driver has already forgave his opponent. Hamilton thought the battle with the Ferrari driver was much superior.

Max Verstappen has no inclination

Max Verstappen has now reacted angrily to Hamilton’s jibe, but the Red Bull driver also appears to be better off racing Leclerc without producing any scrapes. “It’s all about margins, how much respect you have for each other on the track. I’ve known Charles for a long time, I’ve raced against him a lot more so I think we understand each other a bit better,” said the pole-sitter for the Austrian Grand Prix.
When the two were closely aligned in the first few races of the season, that was effectively communicated. Although they engaged in intense competition for the most of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabia Grand Prix, there were no crashes.
Verstappen doesn’t care in the slightest who he has to compete with for the championship, knowing this. The Dutchman only cares that he emerges victorious from the combat. “That’s the most important feeling!,” concluded Verstappen.
