Max Verstappen has continued to dominate Formula 1. The Dutch driver has won two consecutive world titles, with a third one seemingly coming. The 25-year-old had commented clearly about winning his third championship so far. However, the Red Bull driver finally broke his silence after dominantly winning the Austrian GP.

Verstappen has won the last five races back-to-back this season. With the two-time world champion looking set for wins in the coming rounds. When asked if the third world championship was already sealed, the Dutchman dismissed the question straightaway. He answered, “I don’t like to think about that yet. I am just enjoying driving this car and racing for this team.”

The two-time world champion clarified that he is not focused on sealing the championship with many rounds to spare. Rather, Max Verstappen is enjoying his recent success with Christian Horner‘s team. The Dutch driver has won 7 of the nine races and could potentially beat his record of most wins in a single season (17).

The Austrian GP was the second Sprint weekend of the season. The previous sprint round in Azerbaijan saw Charles Leclerc defeating Verstappen for the pole position. The Red Bull driver was tense about the team’s home race due to the sprint format. Although, things went in the favor of Milton Keynes as the Dutch driver came home with an easy win.

Max Verstappen expressed his relief after the race. He stated, “The sprint weekend can be very stressful so I’m just glad it all went to plan.” The Austrian GP was a decent weekend for Red Bull, with Sergio Perez recovering from P13 to P3. Verstappen has grown his championship lead to a staggering 80 points with thirteen rounds to spare.

Thus, Max Verstappen is not concerned about securing his third F1 title early. The Dutchman is more interested in enjoying his dominant run in the sport as he wins back-to-back races. Although fans would be looking to find out how early can the two-time world champion seal this year’s title with his streak of victories.
