When questioned about the ongoing speculation, Stella acknowledges that it’s natural for other teams to be interested in a driver of Norris’s caliber. He mentions that if he were in another Formula 1 team, he would also consider how to acquire Norris for his team potentially. Stella claims that beyond contractual considerations, the desire to win races and championships together is a crucial factor in retaining talented drivers like Norris at McLaren.

It’s only natural. If I were part of another team, I would certainly explore ways to acquire his talent. Our primary goal is to ensure that we do not lose him to another team. Aside from the contractual aspects, being able to win together is a special goal. I think if we give him(Norris)….. a competitive car, we won’t have a hard time keeping him,” Stella told Corriere della Sera newspaper (H&T: Next-Gen Auto.com)
