Lewis Hamilton disgusted by the fans.

Mercedes Amg F1 team other than performing did an excellent job off track after a Lewis Hamilton fan got harassed earlier by drunk spectators on Max grandstand for her support to the Mercedes Driver. Things went way too much out of hand after reports of Racism, Harassment and catcalling came out for the support of Lewis.

Max and Lewis are the arc rivals on track with them having an epic title fight last season, which unfortunately also went under the wrong impression to both the driver’s fans. The fans have an image of the rivals as an enemy which the drivers have tried to clear out a number of times. Fans have no courtesy for the drivers as they go on booing them for every mistake the rivals do. The Silverstone fans booed Max and as a not-so-classy act, Lewis was booed after his crash by the Dutch fans.

Drivers came out to talk about the behaviour at the stands but things still got worse as the time gets ahead. Lewis’ fan was suspected of a horrendous act of lifting up her dress just because she is a Hamilton fan and was told, she didn’t deserve respect for it.

Lewis earlier this day released a statement on his Instagram story regarding the abuse his fans are getting on the Red Bull Ring grandstand.

“DISGUSTED & DISAPPOINTED TO HEAR SOME FANS ARE FACING RACIST, HOMOPHONIC & ABUSIVE BEHAVIOUR AT THE CIRCUIT THIS WEEKEND.. IF YOU SEE THIS HAPPENING, REPORT IT TO CIRCUIT SECURITY & @F1, WE CANNOT SIT BACK AND ALLOW THIS TO CONTINUE” said Lewis.

Max Verstappen also came out to speak about his fans at the Red Bull Ring, “Those people are not really F1 fans.  How many times do you get to experience stuff like that? Such an intense rivalry or fights. These people are not lovers of the sport,” he said.

Max and Lewis finished P2 and P3 sharing the podium together at the Red Bull Ring, the rivals are fighters on track and great human beings outside the track. Fans following the path of their favourite drivers should act like them as well.
