“Mercedes might win P2…only if George crashes into one of the Ferrari again”: Twitter opines on the Mercedes v/s Ferrari fight
Mercedes and Ferrari
While Red Bull have cemented their name at the topmost spot in the World Constructors’ Championship standings for the first time since 2013, the fight is still on for the second place. Ferrari, the early Championship favorites, have suffered a massive fall from grace, and are now aiming for P2 in the points table. And Mercedes, the team that could hardly match up to their title rivals during the initial races, have improve enormously, and are aiming for surpassing Ferrari to get to P2.
As there are only two Grands Prix left for this season and just 40 points remain between the Maranello outfit and the team from Brackley, the debate has fired up about who will finally have the last laugh by clinching P2 in the World Constructors’ Championship rankings. And Formula 1 decided to add to the fire by starting an online discussion on their Twitter, asking fans to comment on their post with their predictions of who will get the second spot in F1 2022 Championship.
As soon as the post about Mercedes’ fight with Ferrari went online on the official Twitter page of Formula 1, fans flooded the comment box with their guesses. As expected, the internet got divided as one group believes Mercedes will easily move past Ferrari in the standings, and another group thinks the initial season stars will end this year on a high by securing P2 behind Red Bull.
The Internet gets divided as fans express varying thoughts on the Mercedes v/s Ferrari battle
Currently in the second spot with a 40 point advantage over Mercedes, Ferrari seem to have made sure the scale is tilted towards them going into the Sao Paolo GP. But the Silver Arrows have already shown massive improvement this year, and it will not be surprising if Toto Wolff‘s team manages to clinch the P2 spot, leaving Ferrari behind by the time the race in Brazil gets over.
Can Mercedes beat Ferrari to P2 in the constructors'?
It's not impossible but it will be "a tremendous ask" says Silver Arrows chief strategist James Vowles#BrazilGP #F1 https://t.co/Fiy3etLOLz

When Formula 1 opened the forum for discussion regarding who would win the second spot in the Championship this year, the fans on Twitter posted these comments on the duel between Mercedes and Ferrari–
Unless Ferrari has some DNFs or Mercedes gets 2 1-2 finishes I don't think it'll happen.

I think that at this point it is better P3 for Ferrari than a P2 because P3 will have more time in the wind tunnel to the develop the car for next year(which what they need urgently). If they would think strategically, I think that giving up the p2 is more beneficial. my thought

Well, I wouldn't give them a chance by default – but it's @ScuderiaFerrari we're talking about. I'm fully confident they can lose it. #BrazilGP #AbuDhabiGP

Ferrari strategists are hard at work to make sure that Merceds will, in fact, beat them.
