Mexican GP 2022 : Where and when to watch Sergio Perez’s home race?
Mexican GP
The excitement levels are over the top as F1 will be coming to Mexico this weekend for the 2022 Mexican GP . This race has a special place in the heart of Formula one fans all over the world. Spreading over 4.304-kilometres, the race has 71 laps to it’s name and is held at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. The race weekend will be commencing from 28th to 30th October. With the championship already been decided, 2nd place is still up for grabs between Sergio Perez and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc.
Apart from this, the Mexican GP is highly regarded among Formula 1 fans as one of the most entertaining races in the F1 calendar with emphasis on ‘highly’. This being due to the track situated at an altitude that is higher than any circuit on the current calendar. The track lies more than 2,200 metres above the sea level. One of the problems that this situation creates for the race cars is the thin air leading to some much needed cooling innovations that will be incorporated into the cars.
With Max Verstappen winning the race last year, the crowd are yet to get over the brilliant double overtake that the Red Bull driver made on the two Mercedes cars going into Turn 1 which effectively gave him the lead. The Dutch driver has a great track record out here but all eyes are going to be on home hero Sergio Perez who will come into the race weekend with a very good chance of winning his home race.

It’s always a fiesta when F1 is in this side of the world with the Mexican GP set to be on a different level compared to others. With both the championships wrapped up, last year’s drama with regards to the title will be non-existent. However, what will still remain is the crowd’s love for Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez especially. Having done some Red Bull show runs already, it’s clear that he can’t wait to be back in this year’s car for the party that lies ahead.
