Mick Schumacher’s seat at Haas in danger as the team acquires more funds from MoneyGram and looks for better racers

The news that Haas have bagged a new sponsor broke into the Formula One world only a few days ago, amidst uncertainty about the team’s decision regarding extension of Mick Schumacher‘s deal by one more season. The only American team in F1 has still not divulged any information on whether the young German is staying in their line-up, or if they will move to someone else for 2023. But now, the news that has surfaced about Haas‘ new sponsorship might indicate that they have the funds to go for someone more experienced than the 2020 F2 Champion.

In some new reports that have been brought to the attention of the followers of F1, it seems that MoneyGram is going to become a major source of funds for Haas. The exact amount of the sponsorship deal got disclosed in one of the articles by RacingNews365 Editorial Director Dieter Rencken.

Ever since the first time Haas got their racecar onto the tracks as an official Formula One team, they have struggled with maintaining their funds. Because of the lacks of enough sponsorships to invest in the development of their cars, Haas has remained at the bottom of grid with the Williams F1 Racing Team. But as per their new deal with MoneyGram, the team will get $20 million every year, and the contract is going to last for three years. This is enough to boost Haas to get into the mid-field fight with other teams like AlphaTauri and Alfa Romeo.

With the considerable input of much-needed funds from MoneyGram, it is expected that Haas will target some better racers for the upcoming Championship season since Mick Schumacher has not been able to impress them the way they had expected. This has created an opening for Nico Hulkenberg to enter the field once more as Kevin Magnussen’s teammate. Now, it remains to be seen who finally bags the deal at Haas and joins the lineup for 2023.
