Lance Stroll is having a nightmare of a season. With just 47 points and a P9 position in the WDC standings, in 2023 so far, he is miles behind his teammate Fernando Alonso who has taken seven podiums in 14 races this season.
Rumors of Stroll’s exit from Aston Martin have been brewing up for quite some time now as team chief Mike Krack finally responded to them. He claimed that while there is not a big difference in pace between the duo, the gap between them in the WDC standings does not tell the entire story. He revealed that the team approaches the two drivers differently according to their own analysis and point of view. Krack also noted that Stroll’s car has had several reliability issues over the year as he said that the team has to improve on their strategies as well.
“There is not a big gap in pace, but there is in points. We have to make a distinction. I think we as a team have to do a lot more on that [Stroll] side of the garage, in terms of strategy, but also in terms of reliability,” said Krack, as per motorsport.com. Krack also acknowledged the problems the team has been facing as a whole. while also coming out for Stroll’s defense saying that it was always his car that was affected.
It has also been speculated that the reason for Stroll retaining his seat for so long with Aston Martin is due to his father, Lawrence Stroll being the owner of the team. With just ten races remaining this season, time is running out for Stroll to prove his worth to the team.

Lawrence Stroll to lose millions due to Lance Stroll in Aston Martin: Reports
Lance Stroll’s disappointing season has been turning many heads over at Aston Martin’s current predicament. As the gap between Stroll and his teammate, Fernando Alonso, keeps increasing, F1 Maximaal’s editor-in-chief Mark Hanselman has claimed that Stroll is costing his father in millions due to his recent exploits.
Hanselman explained that Aston Martin is struggling in the constructors’ standings due to Stroll’s poor performance. After the Italian Grand Prix, the team came down to fourth position, losing out their place to Ferrari. Further, the Editor hinted that if Stroll had a bit more points in the bag, it would have given Aston Martin some leeway and they would be in a much better position currently.
“Stroll is currently costing his father millions in the Constructors’ Championship, as Fernando Alonso is ahead of both Ferrari and Mercedes drivers, while Aston Martin is now fourth, behind both of these teams,” reported Hanselman.
