The season of 2023 was a season with a lot of ups and downs for the Silverstone-based team of Aston Martin. Although the team started the season in great form, down the line, the team started losing its pace quickly and lost the position to McLaren. Mike Krack explained the situation and supported the team over the season.

However, despite the degrading form of the team down the line, the team principal Mike Krack sided with the team and did not display disappointment. The Boss talked about the amazing position at the start of the season and asked the team to analyze the season and the mistakes.

It’s not a disappointment, because you need to be realistic about where you are. We started the year in a very good position, but we also need to analyse why have we been in that position. If you really analyse that and be realistic about where you are, then you cannot be disappointed.
Krack said, as reported by racefans.net.

Krack also highlighted how everyone in the team was surprised seeing the form down the season. Additionally, the Luxembourgish talked about the improving form of the other teams and how they couldn’t do something about that. Hence, Krack felt that it would be wrong to call it a disappointment for the team.

We were surprised – and I think everybody was surprised – that some teams were not coming out of the starting blocks as we have expected. And then by developing, they came back to their say, more natural position. That is something that we cannot influence with the firing power that we were having. So from that point of view, I think it would be wrong to say that this part is a disappointment.

Mike Krack insisted that the team needed to work on it for the future

The 51-year-old boss did not hesitate in accepting the degrading form of the team and called the team out on this. Krack highlighted the issues within the lack of development of the AMR23 and how it turned south after the mid-season break when other teams were constantly upgrading the car but Aston Martin was not.

Mike Krack insisted that the team needed to work on the issues that arose during the season and fix them if the team wanted to become stronger than its competitors. Finally, the boss reiterated his lack of disappointment in the team despite losing the fourth spot in the constructor’s cup to McLaren down the season.

Aston Martin proved their strong suit at the beginning of the season. Despite a few bad races from Lance Stroll, the team scored points throughout the season and hence proved how the team has the potential from the drivers to win a race with the two drivers. Aston Martin aims at scoring much better results in the following season.
