Mercedes have not had any good luck in the last couple of seasons in Formula 1. The team struggled to stay in the top 3 in 2022 as they could only clock a single Grand Prix victory with George Russell‘s breakthrough performance at the Brazilian GP. On the other hand, they did fare much better in 2023 as they surpassed Ferrari by 3 points and snatched the second spot on the World Championship table.

But even then, they could not catch up to Red Bull despite their impressive driver pairing of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton. In the upcoming seasons, the prime focus of Mercedes will be to get back to their winning ways. And with that, they will also want to provide their marqueé driver Lewis Hamilton with a proper Championship-worthy car with which he can contest for his eighth record-breaking world title. Unfortunately, that has not happened in the last two years.

And because of this, Hamilton has had zero Grand Prix wins in 2022 and 2023. But Toto Wolff has already claimed that the entire team will strive for another Championship for Lewis Hamilton in the upcoming years. Now, all the actions that Mercedes take seem to center upon Hamilton, and former two-time Formula 1 Champion Mikka Hakkinen have pointed that out.

Even though George is entering his third season as a Mercedes driver, it's clear that it's Lewis' team. He's been driving there since 2013 and has worked with many of the engineers and mechanics for years.

Mercedes to launch their W15 racecar for the 2024 campaign on February 14

In the upcoming 2024 season, Mercedes Team Principal Toto Wolff has said that his team will have an upheaval of change as they need to come back to their winning ways. For this reason, the engineers at the Brackley outfit are working on mastering how they can produce a racecar that is competent enough to give a good challenge against the cars of other stalwarts on the grid-like Red Bull and Ferrari.

In a surprise announcement, the Silver Arrows have specified that they will launch their W15 racecar for the 2024 season on February 14. Thus, Valentine’s Day will be an important date for the Mercedes fans who will get their first sneak peek at the team’s car for the next season.

In other news, Lewis Hamilton’s previous pre-season testing photos from 2014 recently went viral on social media. While fans have been eagerly waiting for news on his current progress, they reacted to the photo of him crashing into the wall with his Mercedes during the 2014 testing.
