The 2023 Formula 1 season is heading towards a conclusion at the Abu Dhabi GP, where Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen is set to clinch his third world championship title after a season-long domination. The race has been a star-studded event that attracted some of the biggest names in sports, entertainment, and politics. Among them was NBA legend Dwyane Wade, who was seen at the Red Bull garage, mingling with the team and the drivers.

Wade, who retired from basketball in 2019 after a stellar 16-year career that included three NBA championships, 13 All-Star appearances, and an NBA Finals MVP award, is a self-proclaimed F1 fan and has attended several races in the past. He was invited by Red Bull to join them at the Abu Dhabi GP, where he is set to witness Verstappen’s historic 19th victory.

Wade also met with other celebrities who were present at the race as well. The NBA star shared his excitement and admiration for F1 on his social media accounts, posting photos and videos of his experience at the Yas Marina Circuit. He also attended the Miami Grand Prix, which was scheduled in his hometown, back in 2022.

The retired NBA star, boasts a net worth of $170 million, earned through a successful basketball career and lucrative endorsements, including a $60 million deal with Li-Ning. Beyond basketball, Wade is a philanthropist, founded The Wade’s World Foundation, and a supportive family man with a strong commitment to charitable causes.

Wade’s presence at the Abu Dhabi GP was a testament to the growing popularity and appeal of F1 in the US and around the world. The sport has attracted many fans and celebrities from different backgrounds and interests, who appreciate the thrill, drama, and glamour of F1. 

Wade’s visit to the Red Bull garage was also a sign of the team’s success and dominance in the 2023 season, as they won both the drivers’ and constructors’ championships two years in a row now. As the season concludes at the Yas Marina Circuit, it has been ruthlessly dominated by Red Bull and after the winter break, fans will be hoping to have a tougher competition next season.
