Daniel Ricciardo‘s return to Formula 1 has been a great news to a majority of the fans who had been missing the Honey Badger’s infectious energy around the paddocks. The eight-time Grand Prix winner was dismissed from McLaren after his poor results allegedly dragged the team down. The papaya squad took up yet another Aussie racer Oscar Piastri. But Danny Ricc’s popularity in the world of atheletics is perhaps only second to Lewis Hamilton’s, as he has friends in all the high places–including NFL star Josh Allen.
Besides being some of the most prominent faces in Formula 1, racers like Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, Nyck deVries and Daniel Ricciardo have their own clothing lines. Following the path of Hamilton’s +44 brand, Daniel Ricciardo’s Enchanté has garnered worldwide attention. During one of his interviews, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was spotted sporting an Enchanté hoodie with the brand logo displayed on his chest.
Upon being asked whose design he was wearing, Josh Allen said, “Notable Bills fan Daniel Ricciardo.” It is known to all the F1 followers that when the Hobey Badger appeared on the ‘Pardon My Take’ podcast, he had teased that he had a ‘thing’ with Allen. Now, gushing over his old friend Daniel, Josh Allen said, “We’ve hung out in the past, and we FaceTime and text regularly. I’m so happy he’s back on the grid and I hope there’re big things to come.”
Josh Allen reveals how him and Daniel Ricciardo became the best of buddies
Daniel Ricciardo is known for his charismatic attitude, and he has possibly made countless friends for his nature. But in all probability, none are as close to him as Josh Allen. The two have appeared together and talked about each other in their interviews frequently. Speaking on how their meet-cute came to be, Josh Allen said, “I went to an F1 race in Monaco and I met his trainer. And they were like, “Dude, we picked Buffalo Bills to be fans of.” They had my jersey. Come to find out my agent and his agent are best friends.“
Daniel Ricciardo’s connections have yielded him great benefits already as his old team Red Bull decided to take him up for a third driver role once he was released from his contract with McLaren. The Honey Badger got a great chance to race on the grid as a regular driver for AlphaTauri once Helmut Marko deemed Nyck deVries a liability for Red Bull’s sister team. Now, it remains to be seen how Daniel fares at the Faenza outfit and if he can work his way up to Red Bull from there once again.
