Aston Martin confirms no major updates to AMR22 for rest of the 2022 season
The Aston Martin AMR22
It has been going downhill for Aston Martin ever since they rebranded from Racing Point. More money being invested into the team didn’t necessarily mean more performance and that is abundantly clear in the team’s case. The British manufacturer has put 2 cars on the grid this season with Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll racing them.
The British team had brought a design to compete with the grid but soon they got to know that it was a complete failure. This is one of the reasons why Aston Martin changed their design completely and introduced a new version of the car. This version also did not manage to bring the team any luck in terms of results.
It is advisable that Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll keep their expectations low when it comes to the cars performance gains during the remaining few races. Aston Martin performance director Tom McCullough has advised and further went on to answer to the media about the team’s current progression throughout the year.

“We’ve already developed a lot,” says Aston Martin performance director Tom McCullough
“We have given ourselves a development budget. But we’ve already developed a lot and changed the car a lot,” he revealed. The team has now shifted their focus on their 2023 challenger. Tom McCullough had indicated that there is still a possibility to introduce a new rear wing to the car this season. Only issue is that it costs a lot of money and that it might surpass the development budget.
Sebastian Vettel will have to suffer a lot driving in the lower midfield for the last few races of his glorious career. He can still prove his worth by outqualifying his teammate in the same machinery and have a bit of fun. Therefore, this could be a bit of blow for the four time world champion who is looking to end his career on a high.
