Having driven for Williams for three years and eagerly waiting for the call up to Mercedes, George Russell finally got his shot for the 2022 season to be partnered alongside Lewis Hamilton. Since then it has been a rollercoaster of a season for the young British driver as he managed to compete at the top while also subsequently battling with his teammate.

Lewis Hamilton and George Russell have put forth an incredible performance with the machinery that they have had this year. The 2022 Mercedes challenger seemed to have taken a step back when it came to performance compared to rivals Red Bull and Ferrari. Their results made it clear that they were the third best car on the grid which was a bittersweet thing to swallow. Although this hasn’t stopped George from consistently scoring top 5 finishes in every race that he has finished this season.

With there being a big gap between the Italian GP and the upcoming Singapore GP, drivers have gotten some free time to spend and also to train for the most physically demanding race of the season. George Russell has been continuing with his routine while also appearing to be socially active. One such incident among them is him going to cheer on Roger Federer for his last ever tennis match.

The Mercedes driver stated that it was great to catch up with Roger Federer and celebrated what was one of the most incredible careers that an athlete could have. George Russell also went on to say that Roger is one of the nicest guys. The Tennis legend actually replied to his post on Instagram saying “Great to see you George, Hopefully next time it’s on track.”

Roger Federer has been a guest of the Mercedes F1 team multiple times and can be seen in the paddock coming to watch the races. He has developed a great relationship with the team and with George Russell too in the midst of it. It is obvious that the whole team will be celebrating the tennis star’s achievements today and forever.
